Sculpture Collection with Light Rigging
In November 2017 Bohren’s had the honor of moving one of the most interesting installations we had ever seen. “Theater of Disappearance,” By Adrian Villar Rojas, was installed on the rooftop of The Metropolitan Museum of Art Fifth Avenue from April-October 2017.
Custom Crating for Exhibition Transport Overseas
Bohren’s recently crated a large exhibit for an artist destined for the Centre Pompidou in Paris. The Pompidou houses the Musee National d’Art Moderne, the largest museum for modern art in Europe. The photo above captures the arrival of the exhibition in Belgium before being trucked to Paris.
Exhibition Logistics
Bohren’s collected over 30 works in Los Angeles, Philadelphia and New York for a show at the historic Lever House, in Midtown Manhattan. The exhibition encompasses the building’s 2nd floor office space and features sculptures, furniture, baskets, tapestries and paintings by more than 40 artists.
Flatbed Service & Rigging
Bohren’s, in partnership with another fine art carrier, moved this large steel installation to Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton, New Jersey. Due to the large size and weight, they required the expertise of our flatbed service and rigging team to ensure safe transit.
Custom Crating, Packing & Transportation
Bohren’s was hired to move the 85-year-old, 21-foot-long, ship builder’s scale model of the Queen Mary to California. The deinstallation and crating from South Street Seaport in NYC took 3 days and then a climate-controlled tractor trailer with team drivers moved it to its new home aboard the ship in Long Beach, CA.
Moving 20,000 lbs. of Sculptural Paper
Bohren’s moved 12 pallets of paper weighing over 20,000 lbs. from Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton, NJ to our climate-controlled storage facility for 1 month before transporting it to its next exhibition at the Contemporary Art Museum in Houston, Texas. The installation by artist Jae Ko is titled “Flow.”
